We're warming up this evening with a screening of 'Us Now' - a film project about mass collaboration, the internet and government. It tells the stories of online networks whose radical self-organising structures may change the fabric of the way we govern forever. You can find out more about the film on the Us Now website or watch this trailer:

Here's the details:

I really enjoyed the documentary last night! I've read quite a lot of stuff by each of the people featured i.e. Clay Shirky, Charles Leadbetter, David Miliband, Don Tapscott, but it was great to see how all their ideas were woven together around various real-world examples. I'm going to try to set up a screening at my work too as it aligns with a lot of the ideas we've been talking about re: shifting thinking about education for the 21st century. I particularly like the whole idea threaded through the doco that promotes social networks as supports for our best human tendencies: trust, support, openness, helpfulness, people helping each other not for profit but because they want to. Apologies that i had to duck away early before I could chat with everyone at the screening. PS if anyone is interested in reading/talking about future-focussed issues in education, my work has a blog called www.shiftingthinking.org.
Nick and Megan, thanks, looking forward to next month's get-together :)
