The focus is the Government's Public Consultation on Emissions Reduction Targets, which will be taking the shape of a series of public meetings around the country between July 6th and July 13th. In order to have any chance of a safe climate future, we as the New Zealand public need to put out a STRONG call for emissions reduction targets of 40% (relative to 1990 levels) by 2020. The Government's current emissions reduction target sits at a 50% (relative to 1990 levels) by 2050.
