Really enjoyed the comment. And yes, we make compromises, but sometimes that can have great long term outcomes.... and enable us to face up to the challenges///.. We have met the deniers, and they are us http://www.grist.org/article/2009-11-10-we...

Paul thanks for the email regarding Definancialisation, etc... I got half way (it's a biggie) and alarm bells started ringing. EG "Money is the ability to get work done. The work is done using fossil fuel emergy. End of oil means end of money."
We all know that money has been in existence as a medium of exchange and is not nec linked to fossil fuels. Of course much of our economy depends on oil but that doesn't mean that money has no purpose. I'd be interested in your comments. best regards Sophie Jerram (last seen at the Climate Change Hui)

Hi Paul - Finn's email address is kaitiakiorcon.net.nz and I suggest you try and contact him there. I did email him details about the event you're organising, but he's currently down in Golden Bay teaching a permaculture course, and sporadically checking his email. Best of luck!

Hi Paul,

It sounds like a great event and I'm really sad that I won't be able to make it - I would absolutely love to partake. Unfortunately I'll be returning to the UK at the end of Februay and won't be back in Wellington until mid-March.

I do have a friend - Finn Mackesy, who is the Co-chairperson of Permaculture in NZ - who might make a good presenter for the scenario you are suggesting. Would you like me to contact him?

Once again, thanks for the invite and I hope it's a great day!

All the very best,
Lindsay

Hi Paul,

The biowaste dreams event looks great. Shame I live in AKL. Love the name.
A crucial shift at this time is from linear to cyclical thinking. It would be great to begin to document the loop being closed in different parts of NZ. So we can eliminate waste from our vocabularly and have biological and technical nutrients.

Feels like important work in relation to climate change with 2/3rds of our carbon being in soils- rebuilding essential for this.

Love to hear how it goes.
