About Me:
I have deep roots in Northland and lived in Wellington for 7 years before going overseas. I have recently returned to Aotearoa after living/travelling overseas for 18 months and I'm now back in Wellington and loving it! Stuff I like includes: travelling, meeting new people, bodywork, spending time outside, good books, writing, tramping, yoga, yummy vegie food, swimming, live music, biking, dance, feejoa wine, sewing, camping, good conversations. I would like to learn more about gardening and become a better cook!
Areas of interest and expertise
I am passionate about working to create positive social change. I am priviliged to be able to do this as my paid work as well as unpaid. I spent 5 years working in feminist anti-violence organisations, which is a key focus of mine. Working alongside women in creative, political, supportive environments feeds my soul. I was a founding collective member of Muse feminist magazine, a small zine produced in Wellington. I have just started a new job as the education coordinator for an education and research centre committed to tiriti, social, and environmental justice. Very exciting! I am interested in writing/film/art/theatre as tools of social change and would like to do more learning/action in this area. I have a growing interest in bodywork and recently qualified as a massage therapist. Other interests include tiriti justice, facilitation, group work, community development, non-violent communication, and self/community sustainability.

Kia ora Tanya,

I am organising an event with Frocks on Bikes Wellington and all-of-a-sudden thought 'Hey, I wonder is Muse will be interested...' - either in the event itself or in doing something in Muse on the event 'Flocking for Shopping', or on Frocks on Bikes in general. Women peddling into a summer of fun frcokalicious events... yay!

Let me know if you're interested and I can give you more info. You can read about the frockers and these events on the Frocks on Bikes website: http://frocksonbikes.wordpress.com/wellington/
or on Intersect events:

Hope you're well!:)

Kia ora Tanya,

Thanks! That sounds super interesting. Unfortunately I won't be in or near Auckland at that time - or is the workshop someplace else? I am based in Wellington.

I am interested in Muse Magazine... Do you have an online version? And do you take articles from like-minded individuals..?

Thanks again,
Rhylie

Kia Ora Tanya.

Just wanted to let you know that I am running workshops on Deep Ecology in two weeks time. I told you when we met up in Auckland that I would let you know when our next trainings were confirmed. I do not have your email address so i cannot send you anything directly.
Trust all is well with you.

Hi Tanya,
Just wondering if you are still on the look out for a new flatmate as per your reply to my ad? I'm starting to have a look round, ideally trying to find somewhere new before I get into my exams next month. The house I'm at in Kelburn is freezing!! Jane

All good. If you leave on the 2:58pm train you will be at the Swanson Train station at 3:50pm. How about we meet at 1:30pm for a cuppa/something to nibble on and then you'll have plenty of time.
Hasta Thursday then.
