Actually it's next Tuesday eve! Can I encourage you, Joshua, Heidi and the rest of the 350 gang to come until 7ish...? I reckon it would be a great way to transition people out of work-mode / ground the crew so they're even more effective (instead of leaping straight into go-go-go). You'll even get free cupcakes! :)

Hi Marie

We’re meeting at Mon Ami Cafe next Tuesday evening for some more friendly conversations. All the details are on the events page.

If you’re free on Tuesday we’d love to see you there!

We finished another blanket before going to bed on Tuesday! It's on my office chair till I have to give it up for the cause. I'm inspired now, though. Perhaps we should plan a craft Sunday or two over the next wee while?

I'm very interested in hearing more about the state of NZ's fisheries, I've been kicking around the idea of putting some energy into a campaign for more marine reserves but I don't know much about the topic.

I'll look for you at green drinks tomorrow - actually probably better if you look for me, unless you plan on wearing a balaclava and goggles :)

Profile Information

Date of Birth
March 27, 1979
About Me:
Grew up on a self sufficient farm in the west of Ireland and had a love of all things marine from an early age, which lead to a degree in Marine Science. Travelled extensively throughout Asia, Australia, New Zealand and Africa, spending time getting to know each culture, a real education in itself. Living in New Zealand two years now, loving the lifestyle in Wellington.
Areas of interest and expertise
I'm passionate about conservation (marine in particular) and feel conservation and sustainability go hand in hand. I've been thinking about where/how I can make the most impact in these areas and an educator role could be the way forward so I really enjoyed Bill McKibben's talk on climate change. Here in NZ I've somehow managed to spend a high proportion of my time at sea on commercial fishing vessels as a Scientific Observer for MFish but now looking to move up and on!
