This is a place where individuals and groups can be in communication around imagining and designing what a good future would be like, rather than one trying to be a little less bad.

Surprise!

You’re invited to our last Face-to-Face event for Wellington Intersectors for 2009 on November 24. There will be the usual sharing of ideas and inspirations, but this one is a little bit Christmas flavoured and it’s all about Giving.

There will be surprise gifts, crafty activities, ideas for 'sustainable' gifts and conversations about giving. You can get involved in any way that suits you - even if it's just to meet a few more people and enjoy some tasty treats.

...Pssst...pass it on!
Why not surprise someone from the Wellington Intersectors and post this invite on their profile?

http://intersect.ning.com/group/wellingtonintersectors

Cheers!

You can find our more details about the event and RSVP here:

Hi Maibritt, I would like to say hi..."so Hi!" I'm completing a Masters in Design Enterprise at Otago Design Institute (Poly & Uni combined). I have chosen tow subjects for my final papers - biomimcry/natural capitalism and philanthropy. I wonder if you can guide me in any direction. These subjects are huge. i'm looking for an angle/hook for a foundation for my Masters. Maybe you can help.

Hi Maibritt

Sounds super interresting with your engagement in sustainable architecture and biomimicry.
I am doing an internship with Icebreaker (the merino outdoor clothing company) and my work has been about how they can move towards being truly good rather than less bad for the environment.
Would you like to meet up for cup of coffee or something. I would love to hear more about what you are doing. I have a few friends in Denmark that are heavily into sustainable architecture and I would love to hear what is happening in NZ vs. DK. Unfortunately I leave Wellington this Friday.
I am very likely to come back and work some more for Icebreaker in March though.
Your name sounds like you have Danish roots, is that right?

Al the best
Philip

Hi Maibritt,

One of the book that Michael Braungart mentioned when he came out was 'Positive Development: From vicious circles to virtuous cycles through built environment design' by Janis Birkeland.
http://www.earthscan.co.uk/?tabid=4390 or through amazon.
I ordered through the library up here and it is very good. Hangs out in eco-effectiveness, does some jumping back to eco-efficiency. The only book I have seen on this on the built environment. Thought it may be of interest through your work and research.

Hi Maibritt,
Hope you're doing great. Are you in touch with Janine or Bryony coming out? Bryony is driving up from the south island and passing through wellington on her way up to the Better By Design summit- maybe a meet up?
