Choice, I like it! Another random piece of information from the Overlander employee (I hope I don't get him in trouble!) - there are two ex-Wairarapa line carriages which could easily be used for a budget Overlander option - only barrier to them b...

Hey all, I got talking to a Kiwirail employee on the Overlander a couple of weeks ago. I quizzed him about Kiwirail's plans for the long distance network, and this is what came up... - New carriages with extra features Kiwirail is purchasing new ...

Kiaora team, I've been a Grounded Kiwi now for two years. It was hard at first, but now I can't believe I found it such a difficult decision to make * Of all the places in the world to be Grounded in, New Zealand would have to be one of the best!...

We love the freedom of cheap air travel but we love our climate (and the people it supports) much more. This group is dedicated to the exploration of low carbon travel and the joys that come from choosing quality over expedience.

Hey Jinty,
I did a quick search of Intersect members in Otago, and your name came up. The reason I'm looking for Intersect members in Otago is that I am organising a movie screeninig of the Age of Stupid, and I thought you might be interested. The screening is next Wednesday, at 7.pm, College Auditorium. The screening is gold coin donation.

It is being organised by the New Zealand Youth Delegation (in conjunction with SEA Otago). Basically, we are a group of passionate young people who are going to Copenhagen in December to represent your views on climate change. Following the screening of "The Age of Stupid" we will have an open discussion where you can tell us what message you want the Youth Delegation to convey in Copenhagen. What do you want us to tell the world?

I'm sure you know about the movie, but if you want more info, then check out www.ageofstupid.com.

Would be really good to see you on Wednesday!

Hi Jinty

I've been searching Intersect to find people in Dunedin because
I wanted to invite them all to a 350 Climate Action Group's FUN raiser, this coming Friday at the Regent Theatre.

My band - the Wellington International Ukulele Orchestra are doing a gig as part of our National Tour, and we want to pack out the Regent Theatre. $5 from each ticket purchased through the '350 Climate Action Group' (not the box office) go straight to funding their important climate action activities.

You can find out more about it here:

I'm not sure where you are at the moment, but it would be great if you could please let your friends know.

Cheerio!

Hey Jinty,

How's the EnviroSchool project going? I've just started brainstorming some ideas of how to integrate Fairtrade into the EnviroSchools scheme. Let me know if you have any thoughts.

Do you know if any of the schools you are currently working with use Fairtrade products in the staff room or is any of the teachers teach it in the classroom?

Hope you're not missing Dunedin too much!!

Hi Jinty,
Would you be able to email any pdfs you have regarding the Bill McKibben tour, pretty please? The promo material is looking great by the way! Anyway, I am putting together an invite to send around for the Wellington events - and could really use the pdfs to attach to the invite ( : email: georginahart@yahoo.co.uk Thank-you!!

Thanks Jinty.

All the best with the fantastic Enviroschools project too!

Their head office is now certified fair trade and we're working with all the bronze and silver schools down this way too.

Stay in touch when you head back to sunny Dunedin,

Dave

Hi Jinty,

I have just moved to Dunedin and keen to get involved in with some like-minded people. For ages I have been thinking about initiating Intersect in Dunedin and I think there is loads of potential.

I am throwing a call-out to others in Dunedin who might also be interested in putting their heads together around this. There are some great models in Auckland and Wellington that is really informal but a great opportunity to network for young sustainability practicioners.

Let me know if you are interested.

Cheers, Ella Lawton

Hi Jinty,

Just wanted to promote the new "Fair Trade Dunedin" group, through which we're hoping to make Dunedin the 1st Fair Trade City in New Zealand!

Join up to find out how to become a fair trade workplace, uni, school or faith group, as it's as simple as putting the kettle on and brewing a fair trade cuppa!

Loads of attachments available, with the potential to be added to the growing list below, so just yell out on Intersect or pop by Trade Aid on George St to say hi any Thu, Fri or Sat :-)

Cheers for your support,

Dave

Hi Jinty,

Just wondered if you were planning any more Green Drinks as Trade Aid just hosted a similar evening at their head office in ChCh, so the Dunedin shop would love to get more involved?

Drop by for a coffee and a chat any Thursday, Friday or Saturday and join our Facebook page too!

Cheers loads,

Dave
