I hope it goes well y'all! I'd love to get into some kanohi ki te kanohi (and into making some cards)... but I'll be in Auckland, wrung out by an intensive day of science-and-business workshopping.

@Joe - where did the 28c figure come from? i've had lower figures quoted at me as the reason for the extra effort of managing reused cups (see below) not being worth a barista's time. The "hygiene" argument from baristas is a rather feeble excuse -…

I think this is genius and I know several people off the top of my head who'd be in like Flynn. A 'how to do nifty soundbites' would be great - I second all Megan's suggestions. Communicating tricky science things in 'bites would be something I'd fi…

About Me:
I've been interested in the environment since I was knee-high to a grasshopper, and it's developed into a career-directing, life-shaping thing. I would like to be able to make a contribution to making humanity more sustainable - leaving the planet better off than when I arrived.

I've got a law and environmental studies background, and having grown up in New Zealand I've benefited from a hell of a lot of privileges. I'd like to give something back!
Areas of interest and expertise
I enjoy and am generally interested in... the sea, good books and films and shows, good arguments, cycling (road but I'd like to get into mountain), languages...

I'm working for the government as a policy monkey and will be getting my practising certificate as a lawyer next year. I'm very interested in ways to effect behaviour change for the environment, and in how a government could use clever policy tools to that end.

Economics is tragically under-utilised in the New Zealand environmental policy field - in the education sector, (E)NGOs, in local and central government... I believe that at this late stage of the game, with environmental limits fast approaching, we need to do what will get the biggest "bang" for our efforts. It's all about incentives! Make people *want* to change!

I was at the Ballet - thought the bass-drums were exceptionally loud -but somehow fitting. Flat is quite nice - missing flatties but have slowly been getting used to the peacefulness of it all. Veges are cranking and piano is tuned!

Hi Bella

Victoria University seems like just the other day but it's actually getting up to 5 years ago! How scary is that!

I recognise your name but have no idea how I know you either.

I see that you're interested in behaviour change, good stuff. I'm well amongst it over here and really enjoying the challenge. I could go on about it for hours. If you've ever got any questions about it and how it could be applied to a particular problem or policy area then let me know.

Cheers, Tom

One and the same, madam. I just can't resist the opportunity to sign up for do-gooder things that require no precommitment :)

Hey Isabella,
I'm new to this deal, but I'm really keen to come to the talk with Dr Wackernagel. I can't quite work out how to get myself invited - who do you recommend I contact to get myself into the proceedings?
