About Me:
I'm taking the year off to write a book.
I'm trying to live a sustainable life with a small footprint, to this end I have a large garden in which I'm trying to grow a heap of fruit and vege organically to feed my little family. Craft is also a way of living sustainably and inventively (that's my excuse anyway!). As well as all this I run an online store selling re-usable menstrual products - Red Rag - http://www.redrag.co.nz/
Areas of interest and expertise
Re-usable menstrual products, craft, writing

Hi Helen

Thanks for your question on the Wellington Face to Face event. It's kind of kiddie-friendly, in that it's a public cafe (albeit open only to us) and everyone there would be friendly towards kids. But it's also a small room that will probably be packed with about 30-40 people, with not much room to move about.

So... I'll leave it to your judgement! :) Nick

Hi Helen. Sorry I haven't gotten back to you. Been a bit mad with work and now about to north for 2 weeks! How about we make a time for the week following easter and try again? Perhaps with signs :-) Hope Paekakariki living is going well x t

I was at the table near the coffee machine and had a stack of muses on the table to try and help identify myself. hopefully we will do better next time. Let me know if another time suits you..Mabye we will need to wear name tags or silly hats or something...

Kia Ora. I'm away up North the next two lots of tues and weds, but could do either tues the 17th or wed 18th. I work from home in the aro valley, but I like getting out and stretching my legs so I could come to you :)

Hi Helen. Just spotted your profile being featured on Intersect. Love the bike! Glad you have joined Frocks on Bikes. Be great if you had a Kapiti ride. Maybe some of us central WellyCat Frockers could some out in support. Interested in your red rags site. Something I have thought about for a long time but not done anything about. Thanks for showing up on Intersect, with that cute bike to get me into action. Will place a long overdue order for some reusable menstral products soon!

Just read your profile! Would love to find out more about red rag. I use a mooncup which I love, but a couple of reusable pads would be great too. First issue of muse had a little bit about alternative menstrual products which myself and my friend Anya wrote. If you wanted to contribute more about that, that would be great. I have a book called threads about menstruation that my friend in Scotland wrote. If you are in Wgtn sometime, I would love to meet up with you for a cuppa and you would be welcome to borrow threads. x t

Hey Helen! Thanks for lovely feedback about muse. I'm glad you liked it. The next issue should be printed this wednesday, so keep an eye out! Or you can contact muse at muse@riseup.net to give a small donation and have a copy sent to you. If you want to contribute or know people that would, that would be fab too :) I was out in Paekakariki on the weekend for a civil union, so lovely. I'm jealous you get to live there. Cheers! Tanya
