I've just been through a bit of a tough year living with arthritis... don't get me wrong this is not a new thing and I don't want pity, I just wanted to say since I started getting better this time I've really found that attitude (gratitude) and j...
wow. I feel really good just reading your comment Rebeka.
I started practicing gratitude for everything. Particularly when I was in a bit of a mental slump (negative thoughts swirling around).. gratitude was like shining a light straight into tha...
lately i've been thinking about the marvellous. I tend to marvel at the beauty of nature's design, and as I do so, I find it really grounding. Like that gorgeous picture of the lotus flower above...complete acceptance and joy for it as it is- The ...
hello all. Interesting sounding group.
I was just meditating, and here I am all joined up on a cultivating consciousness group.
I'll look with interest to see what comes out of this group!
Here's a start, how do you cultivate consciousness? :)
Hi Heidi,
I think we met in Carterton at the Complementary Currencies workshop there. Or I just have you in my e-mail lists for Wellington Complementary Cureencies... Nice to find you here anyway! Have you received info on the upcoming events 5/8 and 27-28/8?
See you soon I hope!

Namaste - it was lovely to meet you and I absolutely agree about what we have in common. I'm going to try to get an email out about the 350 yogis idea this weekend before I disappear off for a month! I look forward to getting to know you better. M
Hi, Heidi, in seeing your profile I could recommend the event, "Right Relationship" to be held at the Quaker Settlement in Wanganui this coming weekend (see quaker.org.nz for details). It's all about the economy subserving the environment rather than the other way around...
cheers,
Jay
Hi Heidi. Great to see you at the cafe this eve. While I remember, this is the person in Auckland I mentioned who is organising something with a group of young people:

You might wish to contact her - and she's in town at the end of the month.
All the best,

Kia ora Heidi. Great to meet you briefly on Friday night - and Welcome to Intersect! I hope you find some inspirations here. You may also wish to join the Wellycats to stay connected with events like this.
HEY Heidi...Welcome to Intersect!! I hope you find this fun and handy.
Hope you are having a lovely weekend out of the city... I am studying non-renewable resource extraction and its consideration in the basic growth model... whoopee. ( :

Profile Information
About Me:
I am from Canada and have taken a year abroad to pursue my dream of helping others and saving the planet (I mean come on who doesn't!)...and I am also a yoga teacher. Most recently, I started a club called Students for a Sustainable Planet at Victoria University of Wellington and an Institute for a Sustainable Society based on the principles of 'Simple Living and High Thinking'. Okay here is the boring resume bit... I completed a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Guelph, Department of Agricultural Economics, Canada and an Honours Bachelor of Commerce that focused on Environmental Sciences and Marketing Management which included study at the London School of Economics, UK. I have held a variety of senior policy positions with the Ontario Government (Canada) managing ministerial and legislative agendas in Cabinet Office’s Environmental Policy Unit, Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, and Ministry of Transportation. I have also worked for the Government of Canada, Legislative Assembly of Ontario and University of Guelph.
Areas of interest and expertise
I am really interested in the areas of sustainable economics, sustainable activism and sustainable communities. I am exploring the questions: How do we create a sustainable society? and What is our NZ vision for the future? Then I would like to have all of us come together (possibly a outcome/solution oriented gathering here in NZ) to figure out how to make it happen!
