Profile Information

About Me:
Hi fellow intersecter,

I'm a Massey University masters candidate. Keywords for my thesis are: Environment, Wayfinding or interface design, iPhone and Mash-ups.
I believe that every human can and should become more responsible and aware of the butterfly effects of their lives. My thesis aims to address some of these issues through technology.

Previously to 2009, I completed a Bachelor of Design, with Digital Design as my major from Victoria University Wellington. Many of my projects were focused on or around environmental issues/awareness, including my final project resulting in a River Rubbish Clean-up incorporating social media promotion. (more information here: http://www.stuff.co.nz/dominion-post/news/wellington/667938)

Ciao,
Greer :0)

Surprise!

You’re invited to our last Face-to-Face event for Wellington Intersectors for 2009 on November 24. There will be the usual sharing of ideas and inspirations, but this one is a little bit Christmas flavoured and it’s all about Giving.

There will be surprise gifts, crafty activities, ideas for 'sustainable' gifts and conversations about giving. You can get involved in any way that suits you - even if it's just to meet a few more people and enjoy some tasty treats.

...Pssst...pass it on!
Why not surprise someone from the Wellington Intersectors and post this invite on their profile?

Cheers!

Hey Greer,
Yep, I'll do my best to drag the kid down and teach her a bit about responsibility to your local environment :D

And also yes, know Sue Tyler (who runs Craft 2.0) from around the geeky crafty bloggy scene. Hope to have a stall there next year I think. Knitting is a tad slow so I've gotta give myself time to work up stock. ha.

See ya on the 21st

Hi Greer - the beach clean was 4 years ago! Nothing to it really. John just printed out some sponsorship materals and gave them to people on his behalf, left some at commonsense and 30 people sponsored him. You could use this site to promote it and get sponsors through.

Hi Greer, Im in my final year at Massey majoring in interactivity. My final project involves getting neighborhood locals to get together and improve their local environment. Would love to get in contact and discuss our projects as they seem to have crossovers.

Let me know if you're interested.

Hey Greer,

beach cleanup sounds awesome - I've been organising a no plastic bags in NZ campaign (www.noplasticbags.org.nz)
and one thing we have wanted to do for a while is get some great photos of a cleanup day. I'd be keen to hear more about your plans for the cleanup and see if we can lend a hand.

cheers,
Joshua

Hi Greer - I wanted to show you this site:
http://alto.net.nz/sites/beachclean/

My little brother raised over $300 cleaning up the beaches, and got a whole lotta people to sponsor him. It was great, the paper interviewed him and he talked to a lot of of people, leaving with them a legacy of inspiration.

Cheers, Megan
