About Me:
I am an educator, facilitator and change agent. I live in a large city, grow food, teach people how to fish, practice active citizenship, live life fully and do what I can to create the future I want to live in.
I like warm blankets, onsen, seeing food in the landscape, dancing like no one is watching, sharing kai, playing games, eating organic fairtrade dark chocolate, looking up at a crystal clear night's sky and asking why and watching children play.

Kia Ora Finn

I seem to have lost your email address. I'm wanting to send you through info on an upcoming Community Gardening/Collective Food Action workshop that we are running at Kotare. Flick me an email and I'll send it through. Hope all is well with you!

nga mihi,
Tanya

Hey Finn. Thanks for this. Would be keen to hear more. My email is nz_pohutukawa@hotmail.com and I'm actually up around your way in a fortnights time, although will probably mostly be further north taking a needed break at my family bach. Mmm.

Hear you met some of the kotare crew last weekend, Quentin and Mandi. We are planning a community gardening workshop later in the year which would be good to connect with you on. Will keep in touch. Hope all is well with you. Cheers!

Thanks Finn I have connected with Floyd
I was hoping to get down on Friday evening if you know of any other transportation.
But otherwise I'll be a happy wheels-on-the-mini-bus arrival on Saturday morning.
Cheers for your guidance
Hasta pronto

Kia Ora. Thanks for the info. I did a brief search on Tiaka Tie and the project sounds great. I am really interested in finding out more, particularly in regard to funding. Would be choice to have a chat sometime. I'm co-facilitating a workshop on food, poverty, and community gardening in Gisbourne on the 26th-28th of April - if its possible to get your input before then that would be ace. I know its real short notice, but I will be in Tamaki Makaurau this Thursday and have some time in the afternoon if you are free? Otherwise, I seem to be getting into a pattern of spending time up at Kotare every couple of weeks so could maybe make another time soon? Cheers, Tanya

Kia Ora Tanya.
The programme I working on now that you alluded to is called Tiaka Tie in the Bay of Plenty. We are establishing a food forest and working with Ngaitai Iwi Authority to get whole hapu buy in for the project. It is being funded largely by HEHA and has a major health and nutrition component to it. I can tell you more about it when I get back from wananga this week. HEHA is a great source for funding for community food production (Wanganui and Taranaki have sourced funding from there to establish community gardens).

Hey Finn. I was speaking to my friend Eva about workshops I'm putting together for Kotare and having a chat about some community gardening hui we will be putting on in Te Tairawhiti. She asked whether I knew you and said you have been doing some community gardening work in Whakatane. Would be great to find out more about what you are doing and link in with your networks. I'm just back from overseas and still a bit stunned by what a small community Aotearoa is! cheers, tanya
