About Me:
My Work bridges ReGeneration (Beyond Sustainability), Facilitation and Intergenerational Collaboration.

Born and raised in Auckland and currently living out at Bethells which is a real treat.

I am trained in engineering and commerce and worked as an engineer before getting together with some friends in partnership with Anew NZ to host 100 young people/professionals at the Digital Earth Summit on Sustainability in 06.

I think we have systemic structures that encourage us to have the answer but I think the fun and real breakthroughs are in when we partner together.

In January of 2008, I returned from 8 months overseas with my partner Jen- initially in San Francisco but mostly in western europe including a 10 week cycle adventure around the german/austrian alps. I intend to put my renewed gratefulness for this great country that we live in to work.
Areas of interest and expertise
I'm interested in projects and partnerships that fulfil on or step towards the kind of future I'd like to live in- a good one, not one a little less bad (see: McDonough & Braungart: Cradle to Cradle)

I'm interested in good citizen things: how and where we live|work, the intention we take to the making of things, questioning the assumption that more is better, how we get to where we want to go, connection to place, how and where we grow our food.

If I am only for others, who will be for me?
If I am only for myself, what am I?
If not now, when?

Part of my work as a global citizen is to lead work with the Pachamama Alliance in New Zealand. See the trailer of "The Symposium" at http://www.vimeo.com/1797725

Hi Sustainamums & Dads, Hope you are well and the upcoming holidays will be a treat for you and your families. I saw a post elsewhere on the site about becoming a parent and began asking what I would teach my children (when that time comes). I came…

Apple Planet

I have noticed something strange happening to my laptop in the last two months.

Normally when I start my Apple Macbook, it makes the 'apple sound' and shows a picture of an apple in the middle of the screen, as it warms up.

On two occasions instead of an apple, it has had a picture of our planet, flashing for about 30 seconds.

The first time it happened a month or so ago, I had to do a double-take to make sure I wasn't seeing things. I looked around and there was no one else to verify what I… Continue

Same, same - all good i hope! (though knowing that dodgy Potter chap....)

I'll be moving up to Auckland in a couple for about six weeks, and hopefully will get to hook up with yourself and the lovely Jasmine whilst there.

Best of luck tonight!

Hi Carl, well that's interesting. As far as I know Earth Hour isn't scheduled for 2010, and that site most definitely does not look genuine. In fact I would be very confident that it is not official. I'll let the Earth Hour Global team know and they can look into it.

Thanks Carl . . . Cradle to Cradle is my bible actually . . . met Michael when he was in AK for the CEO Sustainability Summit and am an advocate ever since. Yes I see the video now . . . and really love the simplicity and power of her compelling, honest presentation. Should be compulsory viewing for all students and politicians eh
