I love how colours can become synonymous with social, political and philosophical movements, but how about sounds, textures & flavours? I think my ideal would be coarse and tangy with a heavy bassline

About Me:
I love it when people tell me that they feel happy with where they live. This means that they are identifying in some way with their surroundings. I also think that lasting social change has almost always been championed by-the-people, for-the-people, rather than coerced into existence by central agencies. This is why I'm interested in positive educational and soft paternalistic approaches to environmental management. I appreciate it when I hear not what may be wrong with us, but what will work best for all of society. It's focusing on stewardship and our sense of place that can transcend the barriers to social holism and environmental responsibility. I think that people will connect meaningfully with their environment if they're given plenty of power, information and respect when it comes to preparing for their future. I also fear that green issues are a bit faddish at the moment, with new ways and angles to be eco-friendly popping up in every context. Environmental conciousness must be promoted with gusto, but must also be meaningful and recyclable not disposable. Green fatigue is real and is out there, as most people have little patience for something that they may not identify with directly or deeply. Its all a bit obvious but thats what i think....right now. plant trees feel good.

ai ben! fantastico! pleasing food for thought there. being based in london at the mo makes me all the more aware of how true those sentiments are and how hard it is for people being in the city to really connect with these issues and feel enough ownership to create change. But onto what works for me as part of our society... reggae music, wholesome food and snow!

Hows the fams?

Ah, lovely for you to have found me. Yeah, this photo was taken by Te Rawhiti roa in Raglan earlier this year. Summer will be spent in Takaka, possibly Caanan Downs. Will you be there again this new years? I have about three weeks off to cruise and hope that someone is watering my hothouse plants at Lincoln - yes I'm studying organic horticulture there and loving it.

chur chur brother! i agree with the colour theory - since starting work i seem to have gravitated in a definate way towards wearing green as it seems to embody my moods and thinking...as for sounds, flavour and texture.. waiata with a heartbeat that corresponds to your own, a savoury wholesomeness and rough like the feel of bark underhand. nice.
