Young Professionals - Leading the Change

Kia ora tatau!

Beautiful cyclists unite! I'm organising an event for Cycle Aware Wellington and 350.org.nz for a massive cycling action! We want to get as many people as possible out for the event on the 24th of October - which is also perfect for celebrating FROCKOBER! I'm looking at planning an awesome takeover of the Great Harbour Way because bikes are badass!! and the statement needs to be reinforced that cyclists are on the roads, we are part of transport, we are ACTIVE transport for sustainability!
So here's a call-out for people interested in joining the movement! Please email me at christina.bellis3@gmail.com if you are.

ALSO prior to the big ride on October 24th, I'm looking to get 350 cyclists (or 350 wheels at least!) out soon for a photo-op to promote both cycling for sustainability and the event. If you wanna be involved in that it would be rad to hear from you!

Cheers lovelies!

and as a teaser to the Great Harbour Way ride...

When? This Saturday, 22 August
Where? Meet at St Johns by the waterfront (5 cable st)
Time? 11.45am for the fantastic photo!
The route? a nice early afternoon promenade up Kent Terrace, circle around the Basin Reserve, back down and across Wakefield and finishing at Victoria and Manners.

Wellington is hittin the streets for a cycle ride in support of climate protection, the 350 movement (www.350.org.nz), awareness on the need for safe cycle routes in the city and because really: cycling is a fun, low-carbon, healthy and active method of transportation!

A HUGE photo of all of us and our awesome two-wheelers in the 350 formation will be taken at the start which will be shared first with wellington media and then with the world on 24 October. Come out and support cycling and sustainable action for climate protection!

Kashi Leuchs (3 time Olympic cross country mountain bike champ), Cycle Aware Wellington and people who just love their bikes will all be out. and hopefully all you gorgeous Frockers will join the fun!
