I've just been through a bit of a tough year living with arthritis... don't get me wrong this is not a new thing and I don't want pity, I just wanted to say since I started getting better this time I've really found that attitude (gratitude) and just enjoying BEING in the world helps me get through the remaining obstacles. I get up every day feeling excited about the possibilities and the all the beauty in the world. I still feel the tragedy, but I try and look for ways that I can react with with positivity and come up with constructive ideas... I just end up wishing that other people I meet could feel the same, wake up and appreciate what we all have. Nice to see this group... I was originally captured by the beautiful image too. Whose is it?

wow. I feel really good just reading your comment Rebeka.

I started practicing gratitude for everything. Particularly when I was in a bit of a mental slump (negative thoughts swirling around).. gratitude was like shining a light straight into that muck.. dissolving it all almost spontaneously.

Your seeing the world through excited and marvelling eyes almost feels like the next level up from gratitude. It's like gratitude is implicit in the way you're processing the world.

Thanks! I'm going to play with this child-like excitement for all that is. Feels good..

lately i've been thinking about the marvellous. I tend to marvel at the beauty of nature's design, and as I do so, I find it really grounding. Like that gorgeous picture of the lotus flower above...complete acceptance and joy for it as it is- The layers of it. the light on it, the darker pink tips, the unfolding... When I open up to the marvellous within a moment, the miraculous appears. The powerful cleansing force of a storm, the wrinkles on the face of a stranger, the 'gills' on the underside of a mushroom...perhaps it's the child in me...I've noticed that the marvellous in nature is holistic..marvelling at nature as well as my nature is the consciousness i'm cultivating...Poetry comes.

hello all. Interesting sounding group.

I was just meditating, and here I am all joined up on a cultivating consciousness group.

I'll look with interest to see what comes out of this group!

Here's a start, how do you cultivate consciousness? :)
