Young Professionals - Leading the Change

Kia ora koutou,

The CBD in many cities, particularly Auckland, is often viewed as a place solely for work,, shopping or going out. For an increasing number of people however, it is home. As urbanisation increases, so too will the number of people living in the CBD. I want the Auckland CBD to be a welcoming and connected place for people to live, where there are interesting and creative things happening that residents don't need to pay for.

I'm thinking about doing a project in the Auckland CBD with city residents. The basic purposes are:
* encourage a perception of the CBD as a neighbourhood
* connect local residents with each other
* connect local residents with public spaces and public services
* do something innovative and fun!

So... with this in mind, who has some ideas?
* what activities would you suggest?
* what have you heard about that is going on in other cities?

Thanks!
