Hey not sure if you even need this anymore. Quick question Do you need the data in Access? I find excel works just as well if you wanting to merge data. But in case here's a quick guide to importing excel data to Access in Microsoft Office 03. It takes about 2 minutes.

1.Open Access
2. File > New >Blank Database
3. File > Get external Data >Import
4. Files of Type select Microsoft Excel
5. Find File > Import
6. If asked which spreadsheet you would like to import simply select the sheet displaying the data you want to import > click next
7. First Row Contains Headings tick if applicable >OK if feilds can be matched > next
8. Where would you like to store data > New Table > Next
9. Specify information not usually necessary > Next
10. Let Access set primary Key > Next
11. Import to Table > Create name >FINISH >OK

You've now imported the data. Clicking on the file you named will open datasheet view...Feel free to give me call if needed 021 18 300 50 or 03 455 3901

Kind Regards,
Renee

Thanks Renee.. I've seen someone who has shown me it requires a bit more than importing, do you know of anyone who is keen to develop the front end interface of an access spreadsheet?

By front end interface do you mean a data entry "form" as opposed to entering data directly into the database view?
1. Create database by importing data
2. Open database from the Access Window
3. Under Objects menu (left side of Access Window) select Form > Double Click Create form using Wizard t open wizard
4. Select Form Fields form "available fields" by highlighting then using > arrow to move to "selected fields" > NEXT
5. I suggested select Columnar > NEXT
6. Select preferred style > NEXT
7. Name Form > select Open form to view or enter information > FINISH

Takes about three minutes. Hope this helps as I'm not sure what you mean by front end interface but forms are user friendly for data entry.
